If you live in New Jersey and pay rent or own a home, you may qualify for financial assistance through the ANCHOR program. Before the deadline passes, check whether you meet the requirements and what you need to do to receive your benefit.

Who Qualifies for ANCHOR Benefits?
For the 2025 benefit year, you must meet certain requirements:
- Homeowners: You must have lived in your primary residence in New Jersey on October 1, 2025, and have New Jersey gross income of $250,000 or less.
- Renters: You must have rented and lived in your primary residence on that date, be listed on the lease, and have New Jersey gross income of $150,000 or less.
Additional requirements may apply depending on your housing situation and other circumstances.
What If You Haven’t Received Your Payment Yet?
Payments began on September 15, 2026, and are being issued on a rolling basis. According to the New Jersey Division of Taxation, payments generally take up to 90 days after an application is submitted.
If you haven’t received your benefit yet, you can check your ANCHOR payment status through the official website.
What Is the Deadline to Apply for ANCHOR?
The deadline to apply for the 2025 benefit is November 2, 2026. Many homeowners under 65 who do not receive certain disability benefits, as well as many eligible renters, had their applications filed automatically. If you haven’t received a confirmation letter, check whether you need to apply yourself.
Review the requirements and submit your application through the official New Jersey property tax relief portal.
Konecta Tip: Only use official New Jersey state websites to check eligibility, submit applications, and track payments. Don’t assume your application was filed automatically.
